Summer's here and for a fashionista like me, that means...Wardrobe Change! But a new wardrobe doesn't mean spending a ton of money. By refashioning your wardrobe, you can spend close to nothing and look ready for fun in the sun. NOTE: It's too hot to wear jackets during the day, but they come in handy at night. The jacket in this photo was a sleeveless turtleneck sweater that was cut open asymmetrically and hemmed. I added pink sleeves from a different shirt. The "bandaid" skirt was made by cutting a cotton long sleeve shirt into equal sized strips and sewing them together. The green tank was just something that I had in my closet for a while now. The jean jacket in this picture was waist length until I seam ripped it and sewed elastic across the bottom. The scarf was from my closet. The same skirt and tank can look completely different by mix and matching with another sweater from my closet. For this outfit, I took a long skirt and pulled it up to my bust, securing it with a belt. The tights were white with circles cut into them. I dyed them pink. The tank was from my closet along with the shoes. The jacket in the bottom pic was once a baby dress. It was a part of my fashion show.

My mother is a bargain hunting m*(!^& - maniac. This blog is about my struggles to stay in style as my mother tries to hide the mall from me, my brother, and the world. It turns out that you can wear clothes that are cute and unique even when you're forced to make them yourself without brand new fabric. Archives
